2004 and/or 1602 LCD with I2C board

I used up all the 0x27 addresses (8) on the I2C board which uses the PCF8574T chip.

However some of the I2C boards come with the PCF8674AT chip which would allows me an additional set of 8 addresses starting with 0x3F.

Amazon and the like say they sell both kinds of I2C boards with LCD but without providing you the ability to pick which chip you want(need). Any ideas where to buy?

Buy the AT ICs and exchange them in your module.

Problem is every time I buy them its the wrong chip.

Not answering the question but an I2C multiplexer might be a solution. E.g. TCA9548A I2C Multiplexer : ID 2717 : $6.95 : Adafruit Industries, Unique & fun DIY electronics and kits

This seller on Aliexpress has pictures with modules with PCF8574AT. Ask him before you buy,...

I agree with what you say. However I just want the cleaner solution. Where are all the I2C boards with the PCF8674AT chips !!!
