hi, i've came across some 24V AC motors. Is it possible to control these motors with arduino? What else do i need? Are there some makers that make 24v AC motors controllers?

How you control the motors depends on what type they are. I would expect a 24V AC motor to be a universal type (with brushes).
hi, yes i think it's a universal type. i don't have the motors with me. It has a rectangluar box in front of it, so there's gears it in.
For a universal motor you will need a triac controlled driver. Most AC speed controls are for mains voltage but there are some lower voltage ones available. Here is one: http://www.quasarelectronics.com/velleman/k2636-speed-controller-kit.htm.
You can control these motors using Relays.
It is most likely a syncronous type, split phase since it is on a gear head, rarely will a LV AC motor be brushed.
