26ls32

I don't know what I'm doing wrong or if I have misunderstand how to configure the 26ls32, but even if I don't connect the input nor enable, /enable and ground e.g. input A (2 pins) is not connected, A output is 2.7 V. My supply voltage is 5v (pin 16).

How is this suposed to work?

I'm trying to do the Two-Wire Balanced System, RS-422 between 26ls31 and 32 (see page 3 in data sheet).

When I set, e.g. Input A to high on the 26ls31, shouldn't the output on 26ls31 by high (but with a lower voltage)? And when the input is zero the out put should be zero... Am I thinking wrong?

If the 26ls31 get shoot down, will the output from the 26ls32 be high?

Please help me if you know how it works. Would be very thankful!

You have to have the two enable lines at the right state. Pin 4 high and pin 12 low.

but with a lower voltage)

No the voltage should be the logic level.

If the signal is inverted you just have to swap the two wires at one end or the other.

Thanx for your reply!

They are both right (enable => 5v, /enable => gnd), still nothing happens... When you say logic voltage, do you mean 5V? Every output pin has 2,7 voltage even though nothing is connected to its input...

Doesn't sound right can you post a picture of your wiring (not more than 1000 Pixels wide)
