The original question was if the steps/rev did change. That's a no.
Steps/rev depends on the motor you buy, and internal gears trains vary.
About 2048, or 2037.

Yeah got the steps. I converted it to bipolar for the extra torque needed to automate turning an adjustment screw thing to automate changing damper settings in my car.
Only thing really is to find a way to mount it to the adjustment thing.
Take a look here, maybe you can find a coupler you can use.
Or gears, sprockets, chains, belts, etc.
