2N2222 vs 2N2222A

I am trying to use an ultra bright LED (100ma) with my Arduino and I found the following schematic in the playground:
arduino.cc/playground/uploads/Learning/multiple_leds2.jpg
A local electronics supplier has 2N2222A transistors in stock, but not 2N2222 transistors. The following datasheet shows the difference between the two transistors:

The major difference that I see is that the 2N2222A has higher voltages for the Vebo, Vcbo and Vceo values.
Are these 2 transistors interchangeable in the above schematic?

Thanks for any help!

The 2N2222A is the "improved" version of the 2N2222. You should be able to substitute the former for the latter in any circuit (but not necessarily vice versa). I would suspect that you wouldn't be able to find a supplier of the 2N2222 these days since the A version has been around for a long time.

Here is a nice tidbit of RETRO ELECTRONCS reading material... it also somewhat explains why you should just consider lovely 2N2222 a recommendation and not a requirement.
