3.2" TFT Programming

Hello,
I am somewhat familiar with programming Arduino boards, however I am very much code-illiterate and have no clue what is going on, especially with libraries, SPI, UTFT libraries, and so on. I have looked everywhere and have tried many different libraries with plenty of failure. The errors in my compiling read "no such type" for just about every string in these example codes and the screen remains white. I dearly need some expert help on a particular project, as there is a time constraint, and I am willing to split some of my pay in compensation, as I do not believe I can execute solely.
The required program that needs to be developed is rather simple: Three analog outputs on a 3.2" TFT LCD Arduino [Uno} shield connect to three LEDs which operate in sequence like a stoplight with various timings to be inputted through the user by touch screen interfacing. This should be a fairly simple programming task, however I cannot for the life of me code to make any of this example code work on this TFT. I purchased the shield from eBay and seems like it should work. The back light turns on fine. What am I doing wrong, and please treat me as if I haven't a clue. Feel free to contact me at 210-844-6478.
Regards,
Devin
