3.3V and 5V Power Rail circuit - Does this reverse voltage protection work?

Here is an updated schematic. Will that work regards to bulletproof reverse polarity protection when input voltage is from 3V to 24V?

Hi,
When you apply reverse polarity the internal diode will conduct.

Ahh...

Is that better?

Or?

Hi,
It might be easier if you configured your circuit like this and labeled pins.

That I believe is no better than using just a schottky diode.

Why do you say that?

Hi,

The way I see it, if polarity is incorrect.
The 10V zener will be forward biased and drop 0.6V,this will pull the gate negative with respect to the source and the MOSFET will conduct.

The zener diode is only there for over voltage protection. I did not use it in mine as it only 3.7v input. The circuit works perfectly with no voltage drop.

Ah!

You mean it will not work at all as reverse protection! :astonished:

Needs diode in series with Zener. :+1:

Just confused...
