EDIT It seems to be an issue with the IDE. I closed the IDE and now I don't have any problems. Strange.
Hey guys,
I'm working on a project with an arduino pro mini 3.3V and a 3.3V FTDI breakout and I'm getting some weird results. Everything works fine when I have the arduino serial monitor open when the thing reboots, but if I dont have a serial connection open it stays stuck in limbo until I restart it and open a serial connection. The nice thing about this FTDI breakout is that I have RX and TX LEDs so I can see what's going on. It happens that the TX LED is constantly flickering at a very low level. When I send serial data both light up bright like they should, but the TX goes back to a dim flickering. It only seems to do this with the arduino plugged in but I think there's some lingering bits that are keeping my board from starting. Anyone seen this before or have any ideas?
