Hi,
I thought I posted this earlier but I think I might have not done so correctly.
- I have a 3.5" display that I purchased for a raspberry pi project earlier but now may not be able to use it for its earlier destined purpose.
The display is this: Raspberry-Pi-2-3-5-inch
- The project that I am looking at uses a 16 bit display with the following controller HX8357 / ILI9481.
The link is 3_0-Inch-320-X-480-TFT-LCD-Display-Module
Is there a difference in using the SPI bus vs the 16 bit mode? Will the display in 1 work with an ATMEGA2560 board?
Many thanks

(1) is for a 3.3V Raspberry Pi
(2) is for a 5V Mega2560
(2) should work with UTFT or Bodmer's TFT_HX8357 library.
(1) can work with Bodmer's TFT_eSPI library on a 3.3V ESP8266 or ESP32.
David.
Thanks David,
I missed that fact completely, I was just considering the 16bit vs SPI that I forgot the power supply .
I could run the device, with appropriate level shifters -bidirectional using two FETs?

(2) just plugs in to your Mega2560 and away you go.
Buy a RaspBerry Pi if you want to use (1).
It is more effort than it is worth to adapt for the Mega2560. And I don't think that anyone has an off the shelf library for a Mega2560.
David.
