3 watt 8 ohm speaker

Hi, for a part of my project, I want to play music when a button is pressed. I have everything else working except for the speakers. The SD file will "play" when the button is pressed, but no sound comes out of the speakers. I'm using 3 watt 8 ohm speakers with a lm386 amplifier but no sound will come out. Everything else is working as intended but the speakers. I'm using a arduino UNO for this project. Should I use different speakers or do I have to connect them differently? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Speakers I'm using: Amazon.com

Probably a dumb question, but how many different speakers have you tried?

Paul

Just the 8 ohm 3 watt ones. I haven't tried anything else.

Ok, so, how many different ones like that have you tried? Are you suspecting ALL your 8 Ohm 3 watt speakers are bad?

Paul

Test the amplifier & speaker by connecting to something else - Your phone, your computer, your CD player, or TV, or whatever.

It would help if you posted the schematic. It appears the problem is in the analog section, as everything else is working. I assume the audio out of the MP3 player is connected to the LM386. This response is to help you get started in solving your problem, not solve it for you.

You didn't tell us which MP3 player.

The very common DFPlayer, already have a bridged Class-D power amplifier build-in.
Possibly more power and certainly higher efficiency that an ancient LM386.
The DFPlayer can directly drive up to two of those 8ohm speakers.

Wawa:
The DFPlayer can directly drive up to two of those 8ohm speakers.

It has two line outputs (for external stereo amplifier) but only one speaker output (the two speaker pins).

Yes, but the amp should be able to drive a 4ohm load, so to 8ohm speakers in parallel.
