Hello everyone,
Lately I had the interesting idea of building a limitless 360° Camera Follower with an arduino Uno/ esp32 board.
I did a bit of research and found out that there are some versions to buy but these are 300€+ and I don't want to spend so much money on this. I was hoping that maybe some of you have ideas how to technically make that possible.
I thought about using gps of the phone and calculating an angle but I'm worried about that being not accurate enough. Another idea might be to use a transmitter in the pocket of the one beeing followed and to use, similar to the automatic adjusting solarpanels that can be found all over the internet, two receivers to check on which signal is stronger. This is just an idea and I don't know if that would work like this.
I saw people using ai face recognition but I want a solution which works even if I turn around and walk 50m away as the distances are sometimes quite large.
Maybe someone has an idea how this idea might work. I am looking forward to you Awnsers, if anything isn't clear please ask.
(I don't need a code or something just ideas and maybe part ideas and or links to tutorials that might help me)
Lots of words. Can You post a short version of what You intend to follow and send pictures of?
Why a GPS? What GPS information would be used and for what?
The cost is all relative…
If you spend 200 hours figuring this out, at a very conservative $20/hour
The $400 solution just cost $4000 plus parts.
I know there are other benefits or reasons, but it still remains financially upside down as a hobby interest project.
Did you mean something like this, for $39.99?

Can u explain your problem / question in short
Hi I tried to make a simple drawing of what a use case might be.
I was hoping to find ideas for how the tracker could always look in the direction of the object being tracked.
My ideas so far:
I thought about using GPS but this might be complicated and not really precise.
Another idea might be to do something similar to the "sun Follower" project with the 2 ldrs but using radio instead.
Similar to this but I haven't made any good experience with AI tracing yet (dji gimbal). Furthermore there are obstacles and I'm not sure if this works
