3d printer extruder wiring

so i got this extruder for my 3d printer project:

im having problems getting it to work.
any idea how to wire this thing?

Also, what's the purpose of the 'blue' and 'red' wires you see in the picture above? as i understood they might be the thermostats, so how to wire them and where?

Thanks

sorry, there is no answer to your question ....

It'll be easy, as soon as you send a photo of this head, with unfastened wires, to see where each pairs goes.
As far as I can see ,

  • the red and black wires are for the fan ( + and - )
  • the pair that goes in the pink "bubble" is for the NTC
  • the other pair is for the heating device

But that won't tell you how to wire all of this
How do you control it ? Which controller do you plan to use ?

You should search google for "3d printer controller board" , you'll get plenty of schematics and references

The red and blue tags will be the thermocouple, for which you need a thermocouple
amp to handle (should be standard on 3D printer board). The other two are the heater.

You can check as the thermocouple pair should read as a dead short and the heater will
be some finite value.

@MarkT, as far as I know, there is no thermocouple in a printer 3d extruder, it is a NTC thermistor (very often a 100k)

My 3d printer definitely uses a platinum resistance thermometer (RTD) as the temperature sensor.

So that means that so far we have mentioned 3 different possibilities for the temperature sensor.

You need to find out whether you have:

You should be able to determine what you have by measuring it's resistances at two temperatures

and the winner is...................

100k thermistor
