Hi guys im new to arduino and programming, but my latest project might require me to run 4 9v dc motors together at once on and off with arduino. Is it possible? What kind of driver do i need?
Do you need to drive any/all of the motors in both directions?
For bidirectional drive you need an H-bridge per motor. For one-direction a simple transistor/MOSFET per motor may be enough.
Without information about the motors its hard to say more.
To make it easy for a beginner like you, you may want to consider getting a motor shield, like this one You can find others that are cheaper elsewhere. :)
Note that not all motor shieds can drive 4 motors, and most are not stackable like the Adafruit one mentioned...
