4tronix for Arduino (No power supply)

I have just been given a 4tronix initio. I got a battery which was very week and when I connected the arduino it did not started. After this since I couldnt get bttery I could get a thing which could provide 12v. The arduino didn't start :(. After this I connected my laptop charger and it almost burned up but the arduino didn't do anything. This is a link tp the thing which i got. 4tronix initio.

Can anybody tell me what the problem is?

Sounds like you may have destroyed something by a shorting or mishandling.

It did not work well before.. And if I connect a motor to the powersupply which goes into the arduino then it spins the motor....
