Think you may be biting off more than you can chew so-to-speak.
Try searching on Google for something like this.........rather than get part way through and loose interest when nothing works.
You will need to follow this particular one all the way through as things change at times.
If I were you I'd forget the communications part and start with just the mechanics.
There are plenty of cheap and reasonably reliable radios out there that will work with pre-built controller modules.
