hi, i want to make a 5kw fully controlled square wave inverter for induction furnace (small 2kg),using high frecuency IGBT or thyristor. i am looking forward to use arduino to control the inversion process by firing at high frecuency (might not be problem 800Hz).although logic conversion from 5v(arduino output) to IGBT input through e.g optocouplers mayb a constraint . if there is some circuit already built please refer it. THANK YOU !!!
What are you going to power it with? (voltage in / voltage out)
That is a very powerful inverter, is that the output power?
I think this is a very difficult thing to try and design yourself.
A thyristor will only work with an AC input because once on they remain on until the voltage and current through it drop below threshold values.
i have to do some working again..thnx anyways
You want to use an Arduino as an oscillator? Have you considered the option of just using an oscillator?
