5mm IR beam counting code

Hi, I'm having trouble specifically with manipulating this particular demo code for a 5mm IR breakbeam sensor. This code allows for detection of the broken beam by stating "broken" or "unbroken." However, I am trying to manipulate it to count the number of "brokens" because in my particular project, I want to use it as a counting sensor.
