is a 1000mA 5v enough for the uno r3? My primary power source is a car battery, was going to use a cigarette usb charger for the uno, is one amp enough? The H-bridge that the uno will control needs 5v also, should I take this from a) the uno b) the cigarette transformer c) an additional cigarette transformer?
Unless he's wrapping enameled wire around his cancer sticks, I think it's safe to assume that a "cigarette transformer" is one of those DC-DC converters (not a transformer) that plugs into a car's 12v cig lighter socket and outputs 5v.
Is the 5v for the H-bridge also powering the motors attached to the H-bridge? What current do the motors need, in that case?
If it's just the power for the H-bridge, it can be on same supply as Uno. If it's also powering the motors the H-bridge is driving, it shouldn't be the same supply as the Uno.
hi thanks for your reply, the H bridge is up to 24v-50A I am just using 12v-42A motors with the 12v supplied directly to the the Hbridge which also needs 5v for the logic to switch the 12v around, I am thinking that since the ultimate ground is common I can do any of my options and be ok?
