5V to 3.3V serial conversion

I have a device that runs on 3v3 that I’m interfacing to the Arduino. Powering it is not a problem- I have separate regulator that draws from the 5V supply.

The issue is that the device has a couple of serial ports that I need to connect to the Arduino. Is a simple voltage divider (or a Zener/R combo) a quick and easy fix? Or a dodgy and unreliable practise?

Thanks, knowledge base!

Perfect, thanks! ;D
