64 = 46 and 78 is 52 ????

i sent 64 in a string , to get the number

i choose to use

the problem

serial.println (thedata) resluts in 46

78 results in 52

is this the result of ASCII? and if so how to convert the data or what else could it be?

No, it is the result of incorrect code. Since you didn't bother posting it, you are all on your own figuring out what is wrong with it.
