Ah, that is not my image. I just configured my breadboard and Duemilanove in the same manner.
I was trying to avoid purchasing the 9 volt adapter, but I see that this

is probably the best way to power my board, and my college might even have some of the 2.1mm power plugs lying around.
I guess there is no way to connect the board to the 9 volt without using a plug.
