915mhz band?

Hello i was looking at the zigbee and it said that is a 915mhz is that VHF freq?

915MHz, not mhz.
Looks to be UHF:

Does the band matter for any particular reason?

Hey Crossroads thank you. I have also looked at that link you have there. Wow i thought 900mhz and up was licensed bands But from what I'm seeing is that zigbee is ism band unlicensed?

I suspect all the RF modules sold for hobby use work in the unlicensed bands.

Ahh okay. Thank you. i been looking at the zigbee goes really long range. outdoors when line of sight. I'm using the nrf24l01+ module. But if i had some more money i would love to get a zigbee. Thank you CrossRoads.

The 915MHz is not legal in Europe as far as I know.

There are many unlicensed frequencies (maybe 100), for different applications and often only with very little power. For example the RFID devices can use certain frequencies and certain power. There are frequences for DECT phones. Even the 868MHz spread spectrum (LoRa network) is legal. For wifi, the 2.4GHz and 5.2GHz can be used, but also the 57 to 66GHz. A small transmitter for the FM radio for indoor use is also legal, for 87.5 to 108MHz but only 50nW (nano Watt). There are also frequencies for ground penetrating radar.

Hello Koepel thank you. I'm in the us my self and 915mhz is unlicensed here that we can use for most things So zigbee or other devices that use the same frequency as it should be okay.
