9V Connector

Is there any place that sells 9V snaps that already have (breadboard) pins on the end? I've looked every place I can think of, and all I can find are solid core or stranded.

Thanks.

Make your own.
Take a old 9 volt battery apart and steal the connector.
Solder the wires on that you want.
.

I don't know how to take a 9V battery apart.

See:

I will try, hopefully I don't die. :o

I think I will still need the wires with the pins. I was crimping my own but it's such a pain because they are so small.

Thanks.

Make sure you observe polarity after you make up your connector.
The connector you make will be physically reversed from the polarity of a battery!

.

9 volt batteries consist of a tiny stack of six 1.5 volt cells, connector, wires, and a case. Eye protection is always a good idea because something could fly loose, and hand protection will protect you from sharp edges, but you are highly unlikely to die.

How come they are attaching the wires to the batteries on step 6?

The batteries are thrown away you keep the connector portion.
You can solder what ever length of wires you want to the connector.
You may have to rip off the old metal foil and solder directly to the clips
.

Okay. The picture in step 6 shows that the wires are being attached to the battery and the connector.

Once you remove the connector throw the batteries away.
Use good quality electronic solder, 60/40 or 63/37
I always use stranded wire, similar to that shown in the PDF I linked.
.

It wouldn't let me download the PDF, it said that I needed to register for a professional account.

I am talking about the PDF in post #5 that I linked to.

I'm going to try making one today. Is this a good soldering iron? This is the one I am going to use. I think mine only came with the big tip because I can't find the others.

If you are going to use this now and then, it should be OK.
If you are going to solder electronic stuff all the time, buy a good temperature controlled iron.

You do know these are available all over the place?

Well I also have this one, but I don't know if it's any good, and it looks hard to use.

That looks just fine
