9V

Im new to the Arduino and have a quick voltage question. I want to build a rocket computer (altitude, stagging and recovery systems) and to do this I will need 9v source (to fire ignighters) Looking at the board the Vref, will it handle a 9V source without damage to the board or chip.

Thank you in advance.

You don't apply 9V to the AREF pin. You can apply 9V to the VIN pin or to the power jack on the larger boards. The 9V will be cut down to 5V by an onboard power regulator and that will power the logic on the board. The 5V will also be output on the 5V pin for your general use with other transistor logic or devices.

AHH man thank you /bow that is perfect for the project. NOW all i have left is build it, test it and pray that it works and the rocket dosent come in ballistic.

They're all ballistic, you just dont want it to be ballistic on the way down
