Obviously these should work just fine behind a glass or polycarbonate faceplate, needing only a plenum in between the two sensor units, extending out to the faceplate.
I was thinking just glue direct to inside of lens. May need result re-calibrating to compensate for IR loss by both RX & TX through lens.
