A general help *Completely new to Arduino*

"If you read my last reply you can find why I am using 3 boards!"
--sorry. No I can not. I have not heard a viable reason for doing so.

I'm still a little fuzzy on things..

So I'll start with some minor questions.

What will the user be 'doing' at each one of these 'stations'?

"The boards should act on their own because they should symbolize electronic parts interacting with the surrounding on their own,"

but what does that mean? explain it. not code or technical talk.. in real world terms.. explain what "I", as a user of this art install, will literally be doing at each one of the stations?

Am I pressing a button? turning knobs? Both? more? Will each 'station' have different controls to interact with?

In my mind.. (from what you have shown us so far)... it doesnt matter if a standalone board reaches out to the internet/API... or if a button triggers the main board to do so.

3 x buttons.. each when pressed tells main board to reach out to said API/internet end point.. to get your 'value' (or whatever)
