A good shop for electronics

Hi, I don't know if this topic really belongs in this category but anyway, I want to start pretty big projects, so I am looking for a good electronic component suplier. Could you suggest one, as I don't know which one is the better. Thanks

Any particular country? Mouser and Digi-Key are top-shelf suppliers, I think they're pretty much everywhere.

you might check this list - http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Buy - for your country

I didn't saw that... Thanks :)

FWIW, the last time this query came up, I came up with the following list of places I either have bought from, or at least marked it for purchase some time down the road: http://www.the-meissners.org/electronics.html

I get a lot of my components from http://www.taydaelectronics.com/ What they don't have, I usually grab from Mouser or Digikey.

I just use Ebay.. Tayda Electronics have never failed me.,Not to mention just about every part has a link to a data sheet. G&C Supermarket(HK)Co.Ltd ..They have an online store ,via Ebay and are pretty solid to deal with.

Hi Buddy, It is good to be a electronic component supplier. You have to aware your target market & also have the knowledge about your product suppliers.

Thanks.

The critical factor in many places is shipping costs. It is annoying to pay $30 to get a $5 device sent.

Hi, its worth checking as many main stream suppliers as possible, this is because depending on your country of origin they have different delivery rates and deals. For example even though mouser and digikey advertise here in Australia, I'm afraid their delivery times and high cost put them well down the list. RS here will ship over night free of charge if the component is in stock and you order it online. E14 or farnells will do deals for you, especially if you are armed with prices from other suppliers especially RS. If they see you are going to be a volume buyer they will fall over backwards to keep you. A small purchaser might be a bit different but it does pay to talk to these people as it still is a buyers market, ebay has helped make it that way. RS and E14 can likewise link most of their stock to spec sheets, even chemical handling and danger info sheets if necessary.

Tom... :)
