A linear pot that can recoil back to a resting position?

I'm wondering if such a potentiometer exists. I'm looking for a linear pot, that if turned and released, would reverse direction back to a resting position. Kind of like an analog stick has a resting position for the X,Y axis, I'm looking to see if there exists a linear pot that can snap back / rotate back to a resting position.

Did you bother to Google "spring return potentiometer"?

Not those exact words, but yes, I have and it didn't return anything of value, hence why I came here to ask. It could be quite possible that I didn't provide the right words because I didn't know what exactly to ask.

But thank you anyway.

Sure, such things are available. It just becomes a question of if these are affordable or practical for what you want to do...

Hi, Why do you need a spring return? Can you use a joystick type application?

Tom... :)
