hi all
so I am doing a project that calculates the velocity of the water and the total volume of the water, and also I am trying to make the water pump stop after pumping a specified amount of water.
but i have no idea how can i connect every thing together
i got my arduino uno r3 and water flow sensor , mini water pomp 9v and i saw that we also need a 2chanels relay module
can any one help me in this one cuz im still a beginner
Velocity of water ? In what units ? cubic meters per hour ?
A water meter which delivers pulses per volume unit of water passed through it may help here. Certainly, operating a relay after a certain number of pulses should be no problem.
edit
You may be able to use a N Channel logic level mosfet to switch the pump instead of a relay module.
Anyway, start by attempting to connect the water flow sensor to the arduino and read values from it, and print these to the serial console, as water passes through.
If you know the cross-section of the pipe you can calculate the velocity from the flow rate. You get the flow rate from time and flow.
Most flow meters produce a pulse each time a certain volume of liquid passes through. Count the pulses to determine total volume and measure the time between pulses to get flow rate.
the first steps would be to try a few of the examples in the free software to program your Arduino. we refer to it as the IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
next is to connect a sensor and watch it work.
for all the common sensors you can find youtube videos and tutorials and wiring help.
these will get you started.
as a beginner, merging two programs can cause some head scratching, but that is where we are good at teaching you the fundamentals to make your work easier.
I would assume you have a water flow meter. connect that to your Arduino and a hose or pump.
turn on the water and your flow sensor should show an output.
most simple water flow sensors send pulses and each pulse represents some general value.
you might get 375 pulses for 1 liter of water or some such. it's easy to test.
fill a liter bottle, or a gallon or whatever. count the pulses. (easy to do)
if one gallon = 712 pulses, and you want say, 4 gallons. the 4x712 and you should get about 4 gallons.
Take the first steps,
let know where you have problems
and we can help
please do post a link to the sensor you bought and if you get example programs from any website, keep a note of that website and let us know.
