A robot shaped as a robot vacuum cleaner, but with Mecanum wheels, so it can travel in any direction. The brain is a MKR1010. Arduino Cloud involved.

Make a 3D channel to make the "tube" into which hotglue is poured. Result will be square, but works the same as round. If you want a round output, carve/sand the output end.

Making light cables out of hot glue might turn into a side project. I think the water coolig works nice, especially having the tip of the gun submerged into water. I was thinking of having a plastic bottle upside down with bottom cut away. The glue gun fitted to the bottle neck sealing it. Fill the bottle with water and start extruding. The glue tends to float, which makes it continue straight up while it cools down. The result would be a very straight tube
Yes. You can get dimensions, make the form, fill the form with Hot Melt Adhesive (hot glue).
They are called "light pipes" and (as you know) bring SMDLEDs to front panels.
Sounds like a good idea. The LED_BUILTIN can have new life.
Using a 3D printed cast might not work very well.
- How do I detatch the pipe from the cast? It might be a one time use cast.
- The 3D print leaves a rough surface, which dissipates light, whereas the glue coming out from the gun is very smooth.
Use rubber silicone for the form. It is used to make protective phone cases.

@Johan_Ha - Coincidentally, I just opened an EV battery endcap with a button (to view the LEDs) and LEDs (to indicate charge level). The light-pipes for the LEDs and the button were made in one form with the same, clear, rubbery, material. The button was simply one of the light-pipes that connected the "cap" and the button itself.
