Hello everyone
Im doing a project where i need a sensor which will detect urine splashing on a surface when a person is standing up urinating and send a vibration to the person who is wearing the sensor. The sensor would be attached to the human preferably males. This may not be possible i know this but still need to ask. Thanks in advance for any information.
The main question looks like being: Urinating against grass, bushes, trees, posts, .... is okey but not against solid surfaces.
Try a vision system!
Raindrop detectors are widely available.

Is the person blind or deaf or otherwise unable to know when they are urinating on a solid surface?
Yeah. A Cop. Or a Watcher. EVERYWHERE so nothing is missed, ever.
Attached where, exactly?
This is what body cameras are made for.
Ultrasonic to identify the hard surface in range…
Moisture sensor to detect the urine…
Code to tie the two together.
Buzzer to attract attention.
I would use a microphone and listen for the loud high pitched noise that will emit from the person controlling the stream when it hits high voltage.
Yep, people who have aimed for an electric fence will know what you're talking about.
A shewee can fix the other gender.
Leo..
Urinating or dribbling? Big difference, and everyone does, but women more likely due to the ravages of childbirth.
Your concept, however, sounds like a Woody Allen movie.
Will this help them pee? If so, may be a good product for TV sales.
Hi,
If you are looking at conduction along the stream, look at this video.
At 23:23 and onwards.
You could look at the increase in temperature of the urinal surface.
Or the suggestion in post #3.

don't forget the leds. It's not Arduino without the leds!
Hi, @mspower
Is this to act as a deterrent to the person, or as an alarm that it is occurring?
What is the overall application?
Thanks.. Tom..

The increase in temperature sounds really good, if the dog urinated on a couch the surface would get warm and a vibration could be activated to stop the dog urinating on that surface, what type of sensor would detect change in temperature of the surface?
Its to stop a dog pee on furniture
Sounds really good, its to stop a dog urinating marking household furniture
Yes thats exactly it, a vision system sounds good, its to stop a dog urinating and marking on household furniture, the dog would have to wear the sensor on its body preferably a harness around the abdominal area for a male dog in particular
Another suggestion is for You to go a dog training coarse. If You manage that build either there's no furniture left or the dog has somehow found better habits.
Hi,
That means the possibility of the device being in contact with the dog for long periods of time.
Not recommended as skin reactions can occur if using electro methods or the "buzzer" distractor is metal.
Training will solve your problems.
