First, your question has absolutely nothing to do with this old Thread so I have suggested to the Moderator to move it to its own Thread.
Second, I don't know what you mean by a 5-terminal engine - post a link to the motor datasheet.
If you mean a unipolar stepper motor then it may not be possible to control it with an A4988 as that driver is designed for bipolar stepper motors. You can convert some unipolar motors to bipolar.

4 wire, 6 wire, 8 wire = bipolar
5 wire, 6 wire, 8 wire = unipolar
A 5-wire motor cannot (generally) be used as a bipolar without modification into a 4 or 6 wire motor.
Some bipolar drivers can theoretically handle a 5 wire motor, but standard chopper-drivers don't.
[ There is a small chance you are talking about a 5-phase motor, that's a different story entirely ]
