AAAGGGGHHHH

I have been looking and asking everywhere for an answer, but i can't seem to accumulate one… i need something that works with my Arduino and tells it what to do when i tell it to go to a certain object, even though i don't know where it is. like if i gave a friend a GPS receiver or something (my first idea), then he goes who-knows-where, and when i want to send him something, i can just tell my robot to go strait to the object, even though i don't know where it is. then return. therefor i need something that will tell my Arduino, without my help, how to get there and what to do. then also, how do i tell my robot what strait is, or right, or left, etc.?
