So recently i got an Arduino Giga R1 Wifi . Almost immediately I started making sketches for my wire less keyboard that i planned . While testing it i realised that it is not showing in bluetooth tab in the control panel . I tried using LightBlue app on my tablet . The app actually found my Giga r1 . But in Bluetooth setting on my mac it does not even show up. So is there a way to make it appear at this tab
Does your Mac support BLE?
BLE and Bluetooth Classic are not the same. I think Mac is BT Classic.
I currently have bluetooth 5.3 . As i know the versions above 4.0 have BLE. But i am not really sure about this .
with further reading i found out that BLE is only supported but not present in the macbook hardware . I think i need to use an adapter . But this does not explain why does it shows in the app on my tablet and does not shows in Bluetooth settings on the same tablet . Can any body help me understand why this happens .
I researched some, and it seems that the Giga have both BT and BLE in hardware, but only BLE is supported in the official library, according to a search here in the forum. If still true it yes, indicates you need an adapter.
What does System Profiler say?
About that inconsistency in your tablet, I don't know. I've seen similar behavior on an iPhone and hearing aids, not visible in BT setting but the app.
If there's no mention of BLE there you're right. Odd though that they would toss that out.
Ok, so BLE and regular BT are separated then.
It means that you found a solution after all, good to hear ![]()
