About L298n drive board

Hi everyone ,

I use L298N to drive my small device(not motor) and input signal to switch
on/off . The frequency is about 1~100Hz. the usage about L298N is below :

external power supply : 12V Battery , max current is up to 7.2A.
IN1 , IN2 : Using Arduino to switch on/off and Arduino is drived by 6V battery
Load circuit : my small device ( about 1 Ohm) and Resistance 23 Ohm

Under this usage , my L298N board is burned and doesn't work. The attachment is
circuit graph .

How to solve this problem?

Thanks,
Vicder

I'm surprised you get an overheat since the chip is capable of 4A total and 12V through 24 Ohms should give you no more than 1/2A.

You can add a heat sink to dissipate more power.

You can parallel Channel 1 with Channel 4 and Channel 2 with Channel 3 to get all 4 Amps through one output.

I parallel 3 L298 boards, pin by pin and they worked like one, but they drive more amps. I saw in a printing machinery an aplication where they used 4 parallel L298.
