AC relay

Hey can anyone help with connecting a relay to control 220v AC power source?

is this relay ok

I need a transistor right. 2n222 and a diode for safety?

Would love some help with this one!

Thanks,

Tim

A SSR (solid state relay) is the easiest and safest way.

4 pins, you feed it 5v on two and the other two switch the AC.

Example :

Great!

Thank you so much!

Can i put any protection into the circuit before it goes into the relay from the arduino or it should be ok?

A solid-state relay doesn't need a snubber diode like a coil relay does.
HTH

so i just connect the ground of the arduino to the - of the relay and the digital pin to the + and the the AC to the appropriate points on the relay, i actually looks like it can switch two things, no?

I found a similar one which i think i can buy at a store near my house,

It should be also ok no?

Thanks again!

Yes, the Crydom should do the job, but note the rating - "2A 240V", so your load must not exceed about 500W, depending on load (resistive/inductive).
What are you controlling?

hey i am controlling three 90 Watt fans in a power board so it should be ok with 2A right?
