Accelerometer (GY-521) data in function?

I am trying to use my GY-521 data in an IF statement, such that when any 3 of the 7 outputs goes out of normal range it will light up a light using a relay. Not sure what I am doing wrong but keeps saying "can't be used in a function"....

Better, use the Arduino auto-format command (CTRL-T) before copy/pasting it into your post.

For a start, change line 48 to this, accelerometer_y is a variable not a function,
as you wrote - accelerometer_y() , then check whre you missed }

Thanks so much! My past code had the () after the control variable so I left it in….I’ll look that up…
