Accelerometer Y-Axis acting strange

The accelerometer was working fine. This morning the Y-Axis does not change if the wire is plugged into the pin. It starts to read when you unplug the wire from the analog pin. Any ideas? I am stumped.

P.S. I'm pretty new to all of this so bear with me. Thanks so much for any reply!

That's not an accelerometer, that's a breakout board.
Leaving an input unconnected means it is floating, so can read any value.

Going to need to see code and a schematic.
