I wont labour the point but there is little point spending money and a considerable amount of time to develop a system that you cannot sell if installing it means the co loses its fire safety certificate. This can be a huge problem for the company concerned.
You're right about for safety certifacte but i have not seen any access control system which is sold in my country. I should think about it too. I worry about supplying board with rechargeable battery (12V 7-8A) when main supply goes down. It's important issue too.
