Accessing Digital Expansion Module from M4 core

Has anyone had any success accessing the digital expansion modules from the M4 core? The getExpansion example in the Arduino_Opta_Blueprint library compiles fine for the main M7 core, but fails on the M4 core.

Unfortunately I don't have the experience/skills to know how to fix this, or even if it's possible to fix.

For info, the errors reported are:

In function `loop':
   undefined reference to `Controller::update()'
   undefined reference to `Controller::getExpansionNum()'
   undefined reference to `Controller::getExpansionType(unsigned char)'
   undefined reference to `Controller::getExpansionI2Caddress(unsigned char)'
In function `setup':
   undefined reference to `OptaController'
   undefined reference to `Controller::begin()'
