Active UHF RFID and CAN Open

Hello there,
Thanks for stopping by to read my question.

I want to read active UHF RFID tags in both FCC and EU frequencies then take that data and present it over the CANopen network.

I have looked extensively for an off the shelf solution however have not yet found anything for the frequencies I am using. Also many are passive systems whereas my tags are active.

How would you approach this project if you had to build from scratch using shields or IC's ?
