Any one have trouble with matrix that won’t start program or liven up unles uno is restarted or re-downloaded

I've been around on this forum a while and I've not heard of this, so I guess not. Have you tried the Adafruit forum?
I think I've sorted it thank you, they seem very sensitive and don't like dupont connectors so changed to xh. Vibration I recon!

Everything is sensitive to Dupont connectors, because Dupont connectors are so unreliable! I'm sure the original ones made by Dupont were better, but everyone uses the cheap Chinese-made ones these days.

DuPont probably use copper female pins and copper wire, and are very reliable as any copper, female pin.
The cheap knockoffs use copper coated steel or copper coated aluminum. Both a breading ground for galvanic corrosion.
