Adafruit Motor Shield Rev 2 compatible with Arduino Uno Rev 4 wifi?

Does anyone know with certainty if the Adafruit Motor Shield Rev 2 is compatible with Arduino Uno Rev 4 wifi?

The Arduino Uno Rev 4 wifi shield third party compatibility chart does not say, one way or the other.

Based on Adafruit documents it seems yes, and given the comms and control between the two boards is via I2C seems likely that it is compatible. But I want to know for sure.
