Adafruit PCA9685 For board power

I'm looking for a small formfactor power solution just to power my ESP32 and came across the pca9685 in a drawer somewhere.

From what i understand i can hook up the power and ground from a 9v battery to the clamps and then connect one of the pwm pins to my 5vin pin together with the ground and power my board that way with no risk of overvolting?

Obviously most of the information i can find on this board is related to hooking up servo's to it, so wanted to double check if i'm correct.

Any advice/help is greatly appreciated

What type of 9V battery exactly ? Not a PP3 I hope, as it can't deliver much current for very long

That sounds very unwise. Are you really planning to power the ESP32 from a PWM pin on the PCA9685, or have I misunderstood you ?

Please post a schematic of your proposed circuit. A picture of a hand drawn circuit is good enough

Ok, so yeah, I only just figured out what the board actually does, in my haste and with the desire to just find the magic solution I got a bit lost and tried to just make it work in my head. A friend of mine has just recommended an elegoo power MB V2 which I can borrow, which seems to be the solution to my problem, thanks for the extremely speedy and clear reply! And sorry for the time waste post >.<

And how are you powering that breadboard supply.
Breadboard supplies are using linear regulators, so are very inefficient.

An ESP32 board is best powered with a 5volt cellphone charger with USB socket.
