Adafruit_ILI9486_STM32 - does not compile with my STM32 package

The graphicstest demo example does not compile for STM-Nucleo F103RB of my STM32 Arduino package.

The library used is from

The STM32 package has been loaded by adding

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/stm32duino/BoardManagerFiles/master/STM32/package_stm_index.json

found in

to the preferences settings.

This library would help me getting started with my Raspberry Pi display on Arduino

same as

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Rasberry-pi-Raspberry-Pi-2-LCD-3-5-inch-TFT-touch-screen-Display-kit-RPI-Touch/32551712173.html

which seems to be an alternative (knock-off) to the Waveshare 3.5 TFT

Maybe I need to update the Arduino IDE.

Arduino frequently nags me with updates to the libraries, but does not inform about new versions of the IDE.

I am using 1.6.10, but saw that 1.8 is available to download. Maybe this helps.

But the newest download of the STM32 package SPI library does not differ from the version I used.

looks like an inofficial SPI library is needed:

#include <SPI.h> // Using library SPI in folder: D:\Documents\Arduino\hardware\Arduino_STM32\STM32F1\libraries\SPI
