since LDR can be used for light detection….Can solar panel used as LDR???

The reason is that an LDR is a passive device while a solar panel is an active device.

With an LDR light causes a change in resistance. On a solar panel it causes a change in voltage.

You can use solar panel to detect light and dark by testing the output voltage. You will however have to make sure that the voltage does not exceed 5v on the IO pin.
