Adding a DC power jack to Arduino Nano

Hi there,

I am trying to add a DC power jack to my Nano. I think that it has protection circuits built in, but I am not sure. Can anyone help me add a DC power jack to it?

Thanks,

Totara

If you are providing a regulated 5V to your jack, then connect it to the 5V pin. If you are connecting 7V or higher, connect it to the Vin pin.

You can buy short (10 cm) leads with a moulded "barrel" connector (male or female) fitted and free wires on the other.

As the main Arduino site server has crashed again, I cannot (and you may not have been able to) presently locate the schematic to ascertain exactly what overload and reverse voltage protection exists on the Nano.

Just a diode.

Which is really there to “select” between the 5V and VUSB nodes.
