Adding a simple switch to logging scales

I want to add a switch that allows me to switch between different logging intervals. however whenever I try something it crashes. I figure I have to make the log interval into a variable ie x....Then I would need some form of if statement. But i have no idea how to actually do it. And when I did try to make log interval a value it caused trouble with the sync time statement. Can you walk me through it
I only have a few pins left 0, 1 and A0 and A1. i is that a problem.......Ive included the code before i crashed it trying to add a switch.......................HELP

It would be more instructive to see what you tried

   { delay((LOG_INTERVAL -1) - (millis() % LOG_INTERVAL));// delay for the amount of time we want between readings

What an unholy mess. Why mix delay() and millis() ?
