adding a wifi shield

Hi all,
I am new to Arduino and need help.

I added an ethernet shield to my uno as I wanted it to act as a web server. I ran the sketch I found on here after getting the IP & MAC ADDR and it worked perfectly.

When I send the http to the IPv4 address it puts up the 'Test Message' as I hoped.

I then wanted it to be wireless rather than being plugged into my router, so I bought the wireless shield.

This is where the confusion sets in!!!

Do I push the wireless shield onto the ethernet shield which is pushed onto the uno board?

Or.. Do I put the wireless shield onto the uno board and then push the ethernet shield onto that?

Or.. Have i wasted my money and got the complete wrong end of the stick.. meaning that I can't possibly do what I think I can do.. which is issue the same http from my laptop without the arduino being plugged into my router.

Hope someone can help... after you have stopped laughing that is...lol

Do I push the wireless shield onto the ethernet shield which is pushed onto the uno board?

If you don't want wired communication, why leave the ethernet shield in place?

Put the ethernet shield in a drawer, and just plug the WiFi shield in.

Thanks Paul,
I bought the ethernet shield thinking that was the only way to set up as a web server. It was after I got it working that I wanted it to be wireless.. so searched for a wireless shield thinking that this would be an add on.

I think I may have bought the wrong one anyway as I bought the wireless shield and not the wifi shield.

Thanks again
Wal
