addressing more LED's by switching power polarity?

Hello,

So i watched a little thing on Make.com a little while ago about making an LED matrix. I've been looking for the video but can't seem to find it. Either way, i'm looking more for a certain principle or method that they used to address double the leds in their matrix.

They stated that they would hook up a bunch of rows and columns of metal and such to make a normal matrix, although instead of just 1 led at each intersection, they would have 2 leds and then would address one or the other by switching how the power flowed threw the rows and columns.

Is that possible or how would somebody do that?

Are you referring to Charlieplexing?

YES I AM!
Are there any guides or tutorials that i can look through and maybe try out around?

Yeah, there are a number of tutorials on www.instructables.com - Just do a search for Charlieplexing.

Also, here's a short video on Youtube:

Thank you so much!
